11/13/2023 0 Comments Wedo park brook park ohioWith close to 100,000 pallets stored and 4,000 daily orders, Luís Simões’ intense levels of activity required an efficient, quick, error-free solution - a comprehensive solution, which is just what Mecalux delivered at this leading logistics centre. The inverted electrified monorail system moves the pallets straight to the preload channels. Its mission is to identify, locate and order the dispatch of each pallet that arrives at the automated warehouse according to the pre-established sequence. The Mecalux Easy WMS warehouse management system takes centre stage at this point. Sequencing is a cornerstone of this logistics centre, given that grouping orders by transport route and sending them in the specific order to deliver to customers is a must. The warehouse is tasked with sequencing and scheduling order dispatches of ready orders based on vehicle routes, combining efficiency and cost-efficiency. Mecalux came up with the solution: an automated warehouse equipped with the Pallet Shuttle system and transfer cars managed by Easy WMS. Because this is such a high number, it required a system to help it organise finished orders. The company’s priority was to streamline and optimise preparation and dispatch of 4,000 orders per day. All this is managed by the powerful, efficient Easy WMS software from Mecalux. It acts as a buffer and fulfils the role of organising, sequencing and programming the prepared orders to be distributed. At the core of this centre is a warehouse equipped with the automatic Pallet Shuttle system with Mecalux transfer cars. This is made possible by TGW's FlashPick® system, the high-performance core of which consists of a shuttle warehouse with 700,000 storage locations and ergonomic PickCenter One picking workstations.Ĭase Study: The renowned logistics operator Luís Simões has a modern centre in Cabanillas del Campo (Guadalajara, Spain) where it stores nearly 100,000 pallets and prepares more than 4,000 daily orders. On average, only ten minutes pass between order placement and goods issue. The highly-automated multi-channel distribution centre enables the German sporting goods specialist PUMA to dispatch up to 74 million items per year to its customers. #warehousingstories #logistics #automatedwarehouse #mecalux #wms Our business consists of design, manufacturing, sales, and services related to metal racking, automated warehouses, warehouse management software and intralogistics solutions in general.
